This press review underscores a major milestone for the initiative: the official kick-off at MIPIM of the new European LCBI label tailored to Low-Carbon Renovation. Aiming to unify carbon accounting across both new builds and rehabilitation projects, this unified framework has garnered widespread market demand from investors and developers alike. International expansion also gained significant momentum, notably marking the label’s first introduction in Portugal through Covivio and Eiffage Immobilier’s landmark MEININGER hotel project in Porto.
Meanwhile, European adoption continues to accelerate with major real estate developments, such as BPI Real Estate’s massive wood-hybrid “Kennedy Park” project in Luxembourg (Kirchberg) targeting LCBI certification. The first half of the year also highlighted the practical implementation of the methodology by technical experts.
